SMMHEP is a registered charity run by UK-based psychiatrists in collaboration with Malawian mental healthcare staff. As we are run by volunteers, all donations go to support training in Malawi.
We are affiliated with the Royal College of Psychiatrists Volunteer Scheme, the Tropical Health Education Trust (THET) and the Scotland-Malawi Partnership.
In Malawi we have links with the Malawian Ministry of Health, St John of God Hospitaller Health Services (who provide psychiatric services in the north of Malawi) and the Mental Health Users and Carers Association (MeHUCA).
